I appreciated all of the information about Frida, but most avid Frida fans know most of what is mentioned in the book. The comparisons of how she lived her life and how to apply it to our own lives are sometimes fine, and sometimes troubling. When the author suggests having tequila or some drinks like Frida did when things were tough, that disturbed me. Having family members and close friends who have battled alcoholism (like Frida), that suggestion is horrible advice to anyone (even with the disclaimer to be responsible)! I believe the author was trying to be lighthearted, but in this context, that is impossible. I lost interest and didn't finish the book. Even if you think you know everything about Frida Kahlo, this book will prove you wrong!! The author clearly has a passion for Frida that really shines through and she tells many surprising stories that even as someone who has been a fan my entire life, I had no idea! I'll be gifting this to everyone for the holidays.
